Job summary

The New Zealand Government is seeking Emergency Medicine Specialists (FACEM or equivalent) for Gisborne Hospital, which caters to the East Coast of Aotearoa. This role offers both permanent full-time and part-time positions, aiming to address healthcare inequities with opportunities for professional growth.

Candidates will manage acute patients, provide clinical leadership, and enhance training within the Emergency Department, which handles around 30,000 patients annually.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing high acuity, complex patients.
• NZ residency or eligibility for immigration.
• Experience in paediatric emergency medicine or ultrasound is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage acute, high acuity, and complex patients in the Emergency Department.
• Provide EM clinical leadership as the hospital expands.
• Participate in aeromedical retrieval, medical education and EM outreach.
