Job summary

Head Medical is recruiting Emergency Medicine Specialists (FACEM or equivalent) for Gisborne, New Zealand. Permanent full-time and part-time positions are available, with a hospital that serves the East Coast’s healthcare needs.

You will join a team in a 115-bed teaching hospital, delivering high-acuity care, and exploring leadership, aeromedical retrieval, medical education, and EM outreach opportunities. NZ residency or eligibility for immigration is required, and ACEM training is supported.

Qualifications

• FACEM fellowship or equivalent
• Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
• Proven experience managing high-acuity, complex patients
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• NZ residency or eligibility for immigration

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care in a busy ED setting in Gisborne
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient flow and outcomes
• Contribute to ongoing clinical education and EM outreach as opportunities arise
