Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora seeks Emergency Medicine Registrars to deliver high quality, patient and whānau centred care in a well supported department. You will assess and manage a wide range of acute presentations, collaborating with supervising consultants and the multidisciplinary team for hands-on clinical experience.

There is strong focus on education with 4.5 hours of protected teaching weekly, and ACEM trainees are encouraged to complete workplace-based assessments with the FACEM

Qualifications

• Emergency medicine experience appropriate to Registrar level.
• Sound clinical assessment and decision making skills.
• The ability to work calmly and collaboratively in a busy clinical environment.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient and whānau centred care.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage a wide range of acute presentations.
• Work closely with supervising consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Enjoy a rotating full shift roster with support from senior staff.
• Participate in education and professional development activities.
