Job summary

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is a national provider of mental health, addiction, disability, offender rehabilitation, wellbeing and housing services. Join our Emergency Housing team in Masterton to provide practical, person-centred support, helping whānau access services and move toward long-term stability.

Hours are 9.00am–5.00pm, Monday to Friday. A Level 4/5 qualification in Mental Health and Addiction or Social Services and a current First Aid certificate with CPR are required, along with

  • Ability to build professional relationships with whānau and external agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with colleagues to support whānau on their housing journey.
  • Help whānau achieve goals and build everyday life skills.
  • Connect people with community organisations and support services.
  • Complete assessments, reports and support letters.
  • Respond to urgent situations and address safety concerns.
  • Provide support and advocacy at meetings with external agencies.

Join our Emergency Housing team and make a real difference in the lives of whānau experiencing housing challenges. In this role, you'll provide practical, person-centred support, helping people navigate housing, connect with essential community services, and move towards long-term stability.

Working alongside a passionate team, you'll support whānau to access the Ministry of Social Development, health, education, and other community services, supporting them to achieve their goals and build brighter futures.

We're looking for someone with experience in the mental health and social services sector, who has strong knowledge of the Mastertoncommunity and is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for whānau.

What you'll be doing:

  • Partnering with colleagues to support whānau on their housing journey.
  • Supporting whānau to achieve their goals and build everyday life skills.
  • Connecting people with the right community organisations and support services.
  • Completing assessments, reports, and support letters.
  • Responding to urgent situations and addressing safety concerns.
  • Providing support and advocacy at meetings with external agencies.

We have one fixed term part-time position available (expiring June 2027), with hours from 9.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, based in Masterton. If you're ready to be part of a team that cares deeply about people and community, we'd love to hear from you!

  • Level 4 or 5 qualification in Mental Health and Addiction or Social Services
  • A current First Aid certificate including CPR, or the willingness and ability to complete this
