Job summary

Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand is seeking a Team Leader for Emergency Department Administration at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton. You will manage a busy team of ED receptionists (approximately 27 direct reports) across a 24/7 service, oversee rostering and service delivery, and lead by example in a fast-paced environment.

We require an experienced senior leader with strong organisational and communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and a solid understanding of Māori and Pacific

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in a health administration setting.
• Strong proficiency with office systems and rostering.
• Excellent communication and ability to build relationships across disciplines.
• Knowledge and understanding of Māori and/or Pasifika culture, values, and community.

Responsibilities

• Manage the ED Administration team daily, including rostering and receptionist coverage.
• Oversee reception and administrative responsibilities in a busy ED environment.
• Lead a team of ~27 direct reports to support a 24/7 service.
• Foster a customer-focused, professional, and collaborative working culture.
