Job summary

Vector is seeking an Electricity Programme Insights professional to shape the future direction of our electricity business by turning complex programme, financial, operational and delivery data into decision-ready insight. You will work across Operations & Maintenance, Connections and Capital Programme Delivery to build an integrated view of portfolio performance.

The role

As Electricity Programme Insights, you'll help shape the future direction of Vector's electricity business by turning complex programme, financial, operational and delivery information into meaningful, decision-ready insight. Working across Operations & Maintenance, Connections and Capital Programme Delivery, you'll develop an integrated view of portfolio performance, helping leaders understand what is happening, why it matters and what should happen next.

You'll analyse trends, identify emerging risks and opportunities, challenge assumptions and develop evidence-based options and recommendations that support better investment, prioritisation and delivery decisions. While reporting and analysis remain an important foundation, this role sits above routine reporting. The focus is on connecting information from multiple sources, identifying the implications for the business and providing clear insight that leaders can act on with confidence.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond producing reports and into a role where they can directly influence decision-making. You’ll gain visibility across a large and complex electricity portfolio, work closely with senior leaders, contribute to strategic planning and asset-management decisions, and build the commercial judgement, stakeholder influence and executive-level communication skills that can open pathways into senior analytical, programme, portfolio and leadership roles.

Who are we looking for?

• Experience analysing complex programmes, projects, portfolios or business performance information, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, energy, capital delivery, PMO, portfolio management, finance or similarly complex environments.
• Strong analytical and financial capability, including experience working with budgets, forecasts, actuals, accruals, commitments and programme performance data, and turning information into meaningful insights and recommendations.
• Advanced Excel and data-analysis skills, with the ability to work across large and complex datasets, reconcile information from multiple sources and identify the story behind the numbers.
• Excellent judgement and a strategic mindset, including the ability to understand stakeholder needs, quickly assess what level of analysis is required, identify risks and opportunities, and provide clear options and recommendations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively, engage across diverse teams and present insights, options and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear and compelling way.
• Experience within the electricity sector, applying Lean principles, or supporting strategic planning and investment decisions would be advantageous.
