Job summary

Omexom New Zealand is seeking an Electrical Fitter to support our Distribution team in Auckland. You will perform high voltage maintenance, install substation equipment, and deliver electrical services to client specifications.

This full-time, permanent role requires hands-on HV experience, knowledge of regulations, and the ability to respond to fault breakdowns. You will help maintain reliable energy networks and work on diverse projects.

• Thorough knowledge of current regulatory requirements for electrical work.

• Full-time, permanent contract with a minimum of 40 hours guaranteed per week
• Monday – Friday and may be required to participate in a standby roster

About the Role

Are you passionate about working in the energy sector and ready to make a real impact? We’re looking for a Electrical Fitter to support our Distribution team. In this role, you’ll provide an electrical trade’s service to Omexom, covering the full range of electrical and substations services expected of a qualified electrical fitter.

• Performing high voltage maintenance and construction work to client specifications.
• Identifying unscheduled work to ensure that client equipment is fully maintained.
• Responding to emergency fault breakdown work within planned response times.
• Installing substation and other high voltage equipment, as per job instructions and specifications, meeting current regulations and standards.
• Ensuring optimal reliability and performance of the client’s plant and equipment by completing projects and maintenance work on time and to requirement.

Qualifications and Skills

• Hands-on experience in substations and other high voltage electrical work to industry standards.
• A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements pertaining to the carrying out of all prescribed electrical work.
