Job summary

CGR Services is seeking multiple Design Engineers to contribute to electrical distribution and network design across the North Island of New Zealand. You will develop detailed LV/HV designs, produce drawings and reports, and collaborate with project teams to meet regulatory and client requirements.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and cost-effective solutions, with opportunities to work on subdivision reticulation, customer connections, and renewable integration projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Power Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years’ experience in distribution network or infrastructure design.
• Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, GIS and PowerFactory.

Responsibilities

• Develop and produce detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for LV and HV network infrastructure.
• Prepare cost estimates, project documentation, and design reports.
• Conduct site visits, surveys, and feasibility assessments for customer connections and network extensions.
• Ensure all designs comply with network codes, safety standards, and engineering best practice.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal delivery teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Support continuous improvement in design processes, technology adoption, and asset optimisation.
• Contribute to the development of sustainable and future-focused network solutions.
