Job summary

GHD in New Zealand invites an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our team in Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington. You will design and deliver building services electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting and low-voltage networks, and contribute to ICT and fire systems across multidisciplinary projects.

The role involves preparing design documents, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, supporting design development through construction, and engaging with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ electrical engineering experience, with 3 to 5 years preferred.
• Building services electrical design experience.
• Experience with power, lighting and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Experience with ICT systems.
• Multidisciplinary project delivery experience.
• Experience preparing design documentation, reports and specifications.
• Experience using AGI-32 and PowerCAD software packages.
• Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Client engagement and stakeholder management capability.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver building services electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting and low-voltage systems.
• Contribute to communications, ICT, fire systems and associated building infrastructure.
• Prepare design documentation, technical reports and specifications in line with GHD and client requirements.
• Support project planning, design development, construction-phase activities and site-based services where required.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support the preparation of proposals and bids and respond to project opportunities.
• Work across New Zealand and Australian projects, with opportunities to support wider APAC delivery.
