Job summary

BestStart Beckenham is seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our preschool team. The role focuses on children aged 2-5, with occasional nursery support, in a warm, family‑centred environment where teamwork and professional learning are encouraged.

You will hold a BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current NZ Teacher Certification, with knowledge of Te Whāriki and NZ ECE Regulations. The position is permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Holds a BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) qualification and current New Zealand Teacher Certification.
• Strong understanding of child-led curriculum, assessment, and extending children’s learning.
• Knowledge of Te Whāriki and current ECE Regulations with a focus on compliance.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through authentic teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support tamariki aged 2–5 years in a warm preschool setting.
• Collaborate with kaiako to create rich learning experiences and a nurturing environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, whānau and colleagues.
