Job summary

The Labour Supply Co in Auckland, North Island, is seeking 3 experienced Earthworks Project Managers to lead civil construction projects across the Auckland region. Based at Auckland Central, Dairy Flat or Long Bay, this hands-on leadership role requires proficiency with engineering drawings and on-site execution.

You will plan, budget, sequence earthworks programs from mobilisation to completion, supervise crews and subcontractors, manage variations and progress claims, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing civil earthworks projects (subdivisions, roading, bulk earthworks).
• Strong ability to read civil engineering drawings and survey/set-out data.
• Solid understanding of compaction standards, drainage falls, and erosion & sediment control.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple crews simultaneously.
• Full, clean driver’s licence.
• Current Site Safe (or equivalent site safety induction).

Responsibilities

• Planning and sequencing earthworks programs, from mobilisation through to completion
• Managing project budgets, variations, and progress claims
• Supervising site foremen, machine operators, and subcontractors
• Ensuring work meets engineering specifications, compaction standards, and consent conditions
• Liaising with clients, engineers, surveyors, and council representatives
• Managing procurement of plant, materials, and subcontracted trades
• Maintaining accurate site records, including diaries and as-built documentation
• Identifying and resolving on-site risks — ground conditions, weather, design changes
