Job summary

IXOM’s Mount Maunganui site is offering two full-time permanent roles in the Junior Professional Program. You will join the Projects and Technology team, with mentoring, structured development, and hands-on project experience.

Ideal candidates have a chemical/Process engineering background, strong communication, and analytical skills, plus a willingness to travel or relocate within NZ as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related field is essential to be considered.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management and organisational skills to be able to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Minimal experience will be required for this role - experience gained through university placements, internships, or self-managed projects will be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, implementation, and optimisation of chemical processes.
• Develop clear project scopes that are understood and agreed with the relevant customers.
• Prepare detailed and robust cost estimations.
• Deliver projects on time, on budget and within scope.
• Develop or modify engineering drawings including P&IDs, Loop, Wiring, and general arrangements (GAs).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Apply and continuously improve sound project management techniques.
• Provide regular reporting on all projects during implementation.
• Develop and manage budgets as required.
• Provide fit for purpose and compliant designs and solutions to satisfy the needs of the customer.
