Job summary

IXOM offers two full-time permanent positions based at our Mount Maunganui manufacturing site in New Zealand. We are open to considering candidates located elsewhere in New Zealand who are willing to travel or relocate as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related field is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills to be able to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Minimal experience will be required for this role - experience gained through university placements, internships, or self-managed projects will be desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and optimisation of chemical processes.
  • Develop clear project scopes that are understood and agreed with the relevant customers.
  • Prepare detailed and robust cost estimations.
  • Deliver projects on time, on budget and within scope.
  • Develop or modify engineering drawings including P&IDs, Loop, Wiring, and general arrangements (GAs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Apply and continuously improve sound project management techniques.
  • Provide regular reporting on all projects during implementation.
  • Develop and manage budgets as required.
  • Provide fit for purpose and compliant designs and solutions to satisfy the needs of the customer.

It’s an exciting time to join our dynamic Projects and Technology team, based at our Mount Maunganui manufacturing site in New Zealand. This role will truly provide the opportunity for professional and career development within the IXOM business, being part of our Junior Professional Program.
