Job summary

The Apple Shed on Mapua Wharf is seeking a Duty Manager to join the management team. You will be responsible for managing shifts, opening and closing the restaurant, and reporting to the Restaurant Manager.

Ideal candidates will have 1+ year in a junior restaurant management role, LCQ & Duty Manager certificates, and strong leadership to drive guest experience and sales targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a junior restaurant management role.
• LCQ and Duty Manager's Certificate are required.
• Excellent communication with guests, owners, team and suppliers.
• Strong leadership with ability to foster collaboration and accountability.

The Apple Shed is an established, busy and vibrant restaurant and bar, located 30 mins from Nelson, on the beautiful Mapua Wharf. We are renowned for our amazing location, within which we pride ourselves on creating memorable guest experiences.

We are currently hiring a Duty Managerto join our management team. You would be required to manage shifts and open and close the restaurant. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager

We require the successful candidate to possess the following attributes:

• An extensive knowledge of and passion for the restaurant industry.
• Minimum of 1 years previous experience in a junior restaurant management role.
• The ability to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and role-modelling to your team, whilst allowing space for collaboration.
• The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests, company owners, co-leaders, team members, suppliers and contractors alike.
• To display patience, positivity, optimism, resilience, integrity and initiative.
• Dedication to and focus on providing exceptional guests experience by always striving to exceed expectations.
• The willingness to respect, manage, maintain and improve the recognised operating systems of the business.
• Excellent knowledge of cloud-based hospitality operating systems such as Loaded Reports, Operandio, IdealPOS & NowBookIt.
• Excellent knowledge of software programs such as google docs, word, excel and email management.
• The ability and knowledge to provide an outstanding guest experience.
• Outstanding sales knowledge and the ability to meet sales targets.
• Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) and Duty Manager's Certificate.
• Someone who takes pride in their appearance and that of the team around them.

Training and familiarisation of systems will be provided as part of your onboarding and familiarisation process.
