Job summary

Learn to Drive Limited in New Plymouth, North Island, seeks a full-time Driving Instructor. The role focuses on delivering high-quality lessons for Class 1 vehicles (automatic and manual) and guiding students through learner, restricted, and full licence tests.

A company vehicle and work phone are provided, with a starting salary of NZD 70,000–75,000 once qualified. The position is based primarily in New Plymouth with flexibility to work in other areas of Taranaki.

Qualifications

• A high standard of driving skill and safety awareness (manual and automatic).
• Full Class 1 New Zealand driver licence (held for at least 2 years).
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Self-motivation, integrity, and patience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people from all backgrounds.
• Ability to meet NZTA medical and fit & proper person requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality driving lessons for Class 1 vehicles (automatic and manual).
• Support students in preparing for learner, restricted, and full licence tests.
• Guide clients through the driver licensing process and promote safe, responsible driving habits.
• Maintain accurate lesson notes and student progress records.
• Represent Learn to Drive in a professional and community-focused manner.

Learn to Drive Limited has helped thousands of people across Taranaki gain confidence and independence behind the wheel since 2019. We provide a range of driver and motorcycle training, education, assessment and driver testing services across the region. We are seeking a full-time, permanent Driving Instructor based primarily in New Plymouth, with flexibility to work in other areas of Taranaki as required. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality driving lessons for Class 1 vehicles (automatic and manual).

You Must Have
