Job summary

VTNZ Invercargill is seeking a Driver Testing Officer to join the team on a full-time basis. You will test safe driving practices for light vehicles, motorcycles and trucks, and help new drivers develop the skills needed for an 'O' Endorsement.

Four weeks of paid training are provided, with potential for rostered weekend work and a 40-hour week. A strong focus on customer service and clear communication is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Current, Full NZ Driver's Licence (2+ years, manual driving capable).
• Customer service experience, preferably in a pressured environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Technically minded with sound judgement and observation.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday with rostered weekends.
• Meet requirements to gain 'O Endorsement' on your licence.

Responsibilities

• Test safe driving practices for light vehicles, motorcycles and trucks.
• Complete four weeks paid training to obtain an 'O' Endorsement and participate in pre-employment checks.

VTNZ Invercargillis looking for a Driver Testing Officer to join their team full time.

You will be required to test safe driving practices according to New Zealand's traffic law. We test not only light passenger vehicles but motorcycles and trucks too.

Requirements

• Current, Full & CleanNew ZealandDriver's Licence(having held it for 2+ years and capable of driving manual vehicles)
• Customer service experience, ideally experience working with customers in a pressured environment
• Excellent written and oralEnglish comprehension and communication
• Technically mindedwith sound judgement and observation skills
• Ability to work Monday to Friday and rostered weekends
• Meet requirements to gain 'O Endorsement' on your licence which may include eyesight and medical testing

We up-skill you with four weeks' intensive paid training so you can gain an 'O' Endorsement on your drivers licence (required for this role). Training may be away from your home location, but all costs will be covered by us. This training will begin around September/October.

As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to complete some pre-employment checks including demerit check, practical drive and theory testing- so get revising on that Road Code!

You’ll be available to work 40 hours per week plus rostered weekend work.
