Job summary

Alpine Luxury Tours in Queenstown is seeking a casual, fixed-term Driver/Guide to safely transport guests around the Queenstown region and South Island, delivering engaging commentary and a high standard of service. You will hold a valid New Zealand driver’s license with a clean record, have a Passenger Endorsement, and be comfortable working weekends during peak season.

Excellent communication and strong local knowledge are essential.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive passengers to designated locations within Queenstown region and South Island.
• Provide informative and engaging commentary on local history and sights.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic safety checks.
• Respond to passenger inquiries and resolve issues during journeys.
• Adhere to safety policies and company procedures; make safety decisions as required.
• Deliver a high standard of service and ensure passenger satisfaction.

Alpine Luxury Tours is a leading provider of private and small-group tours in Queenstown and Christchurch. With a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences, we pride ourselves on showcasing the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of this stunning part of New Zealand. Using our fleet of European vehicles including SUV's and Mercedes Sprinters, our services covertransfers, day tours, wine tours, hikes, private helicopter guiding and more.

As a Driver/Guide, you will be responsible for safely guiding and transporting guests to various destinations within the Queenstown region and South Island, all while providing engaging and informative commentary.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and personableCasual,Fixed Term Driver/Guides to join our team and help deliver outstanding service to our clients.

Safely drive passengers to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.

Provide informative and engaging commentary on local history, landmarks, and points of interest.

Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness and ensure regular maintenance checks are performed.

Respond to passenger inquiries last minute and provide excellent customer service.

Address and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise during the journey.

Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and customer service.

Responsible for delivering a high standard of service.

Will be ultimately responsible for making decisions when it comes to the safety of Clients.

Qualifications:

Valid New Zealand driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Queenstown local (preferred) or has lived here for more than 5 years.

Have rights to work in New Zealand(we cannot sponsor work visas)

Hold a Passenger Endorsement on a full New Zealand drivers license

Be fluent in Englishto a high level

Be willing to work weekends and over the Christmas periods (this is peak season for us).

Proven experience as a driver, preferably with experience in guiding or tour operations.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and entertain passengers.

Strong knowledge of the local area, including historical and cultural information.

Ability to handle unexpected situations and provide excellent customer service.

Be physically fit.

Friendly, professional demeanor with a passion for customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience as a tour guide or in a similar customer‑facing role.

Familiarity with multiple languages (optional but preferred).

Current First Aid certification.

Have a clean driving record.

What We Offer:

Excellent hourly rate $35 - $38 per hour.

Fixed term and casual postions available

Start date: 5th October 2026 through to 30th April 2027 this could extend
