Job summary

VTNZ Frankton is seeking a Driver Testing Officer to join the team on a full-time basis. You will test safe driving practices across light vehicles, motorcycles and trucks, following New Zealand traffic laws.

Four weeks of intensive paid training are provided to obtain an 'O Endorsement' on your licence. Training may occur away from home, with all costs covered. Next intake starts 09 November 2026, with pre-employment checks as part of process.

Qualifications

• NZ Driver's Licence (Full & Clean) held for 2+ years, with ability to drive manual vehicles.
• Customer service experience in pressured environments.
• Excellent written and oral English comprehension and communication.
• Willingness to work Monday to Friday with rostered weekend shifts.
• Ability to gain an 'O Endorsement' on your licence (eyesight/medical testing possible).

Responsibilities

• Test safe driving practices according to New Zealand traffic law for light vehicles, motorcycles and trucks.
• Administer driver tests at the Frankton site and support training initiatives.
• Provide clear guidance and feedback to test candidates.
• Contribute to upskilling through four weeks of intensive paid training.

VTNZ Franktonis is looking for a Driver Testing Officer to join their team full time.

You will be required to test safe driving practices according to New Zealand's traffic law. We test not only light passenger vehicles but motorcycles and trucks too.

Requirements

• Current, Full & Clean New Zealand Driver's Licence (having held it for 2+ years and capable of driving manual vehicles)
• Customer service experience, ideally experience working with customers in a pressured environment
• Excellent written and oral English comprehension and communication
• Technically minded with sound judgement and observation skills
• Ability to work Monday to Friday and rostered weekends
• Meet requirements to gain an 'O Endorsement' on your licence which may include eyesight and medical testing

We up-skill you with four weeks’ intensive paid training so you can gain an 'O' Endorsement on your drivers licence (required for this role). Training may be away from your home location, but all costs will be covered by us. The next training intake starts on 09 November 2026.

As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to complete some pre-employment checks including demerit check, practical drive and theory testing - so get revising on that Road Code!

You’ll be available to work 40 hours per week plus rostered weekend work.
