Job summary

Downer in Dunedin is seeking motivated Driver Operators to join our team. If you hold a Class 2, 4 or 5 licence, you will split time between driving, operating equipment, and supporting the crew on civil and infrastructure projects across the region.

When not behind the wheel, you'll assist with labouring tasks, site setup, traffic management support, and helping deliver projects on time and safely. A varied role with predictable hours and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid NZ Class 2, 4 or 5 driver's licence.
• Willingness to perform labouring tasks and site setup.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
• Reliability, flexibility and a positive attitude.
• Strong communication with customers and crew.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate equipment as required on civil projects.
• Assist with general labouring tasks and site setup.
• Provide traffic management support and project delivery activities.
• Collaborate with crew to ensure timely, safe outcomes.

Downer has an exciting opportunity for motivated Driver Operators to join our Dunedin team. Whether you're a Class 2, 4 or 5 licence holder, we want to hear from people who enjoy a mix of driving, operating equipment, and getting stuck in alongside the crew.

You’ll be an important part of our operations team, supporting a range of maintenance, civil, and infrastructure projects across the region. When you're not behind the wheel, you'll be assisting with general labouring tasks, site setup, traffic management support, and project delivery activities.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Full Class 2, 4 or 5 Driver Licence
• A strong work ethic and willingness to get involved with labouring tasks

Highly desirable:

• Civil construction, maintenance, or infrastructure experience
• Excavator operating experience
• Experience with Concrete & Asphalt Work
• Carpentry skills highly regardedwork
• W, T, and R endorsements
• Experience operating plant and machinery
• Experience working outdoors in physically demanding environments
