Job summary

Waste Management in Tauranga is looking for a skilled Class 5 Driver to join our team. You will operate daily to collect service routes, perform vehicle safety checks and keep accurate records, ensuring timely pickups across Tauranga.

We value health and safety, a strong work ethic and team collaboration. You will need a clean Class 5 NZ driver's licence and relevant driving experience; the role offers guaranteed hours and a clear career path with the latest on-board truck technology.

Qualifications

• You must hold a clean and up-to-date Class 5 NZ driver’s licence.
• Relevant driving experience within waste collection or similar is preferred.
• Ability to operate safely and efficiently in a high-pace environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a vehicle and equipment to collect services in Tauranga safely and on time.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required paperwork and vehicle safety checks.
• Assist with loading/unloading as required and adhere to NZTA regulations.

About the role

As a Driver, you will be responsible for operating a vehicle and equipment on board to ensure a safe and timely collection of service throughout Tauranga. You’ll also be required to keep accurate records and paperwork and undertake vehicle safety checks.

At times there may be some heavy lifting so you will need to have a reasonable level of fitness. From previous experience, you’ll already know the importance of health and safety in the workplace, and you’ll champion our culture of making sure everyone gets home safely.

You are customer-focused and enjoy interacting with customers and colleagues. You’re comfortable working independently and pulling together as part of the team.
