Job summary

Macmahon New Zealand is seeking experienced Drill Fitters to join the Snowy River Gold Mine Project near Reefton. You will perform maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on a fleet of brand-new underground Sandvik drill rigs, working with a skilled team in a high-performing underground mining environment.

To be considered, applicants should hold a NZ/AU mobile plant trade qualification, have experience in mining equipment maintenance, strong diagnostic skills, and a NZ Class 1 or Australian C

Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across heavy mobile equipment.
• Experience maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment or Sandvik fleet preferred.
• Valid NZ Class 1 or Australian C Class Driver's Licence (essential).

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance on underground Sandvik drill rigs.
• Complete servicing and maintenance to OEM standards and site procedures.
• Support equipment reliability, availability and safe operating performance.
• Collaborate with production and planning teams to safely execute maintenance activities.
• Promote a strong safety culture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role

Macmahon New Zealand is seeking experienced Drill Fitters to join our team at the Snowy River Gold Mine Project near Reefton on New Zealand's South Island.

In this hands-on role, you will perform maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on a fleet of primarily brand-new underground Sandvik drill rigs. Working alongside a skilled and supportive team, you'll contribute your expertise while continuing to develop your skills in a high-performing underground mining environment.

Responsibilities

What You'll Bring

• Australian or New Zealand recognised Mobile Plant Trade Qualification (Cert III or equivalent).
• Experience maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment, ideally Sandvik fleet.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across heavy mobile equipment.
• Experience managing maintenance records and reporting systems.
• Valid unrestricted manual New Zealand Class 1 or Australian C Class Driver's Licence (essential).
