Job summary

Macmahon Underground is returning to New Zealand and seeks Bogger Operators for the Snowy River Gold Mine Project near Reefton. You will operate Sandvik and CAT underground loaders, supporting development, production and backfill services with a strong safety focus.

Applicants should have 12+ months experience with Sandvik/CAT LHDs, hold a NZ Class 1 license (DG endorsement desirable) and a current Senior First Aid Certificate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience operating the Sandvik and CAT underground loaders.
• Strong safety focus and ability to communicate openly.
• Team mindset with a reliable work ethic and positive culture.
• NZ Class 1 unrestricted manual license (Desirable DG endorsement).
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate Sandvik and CAT underground loaders safely and efficiently.
• Conduct regular loader inspections and report damages.
• Complete end-of-shift reports and relevant documents.
• Communicate clearly with the team and supervisors.
• Keep ore, low grade, marginal and waste materials separated and tracked.
• Undertake other labouring duties as required.
• Complete pre-start checks and report hazards immediately.
• Follow plans, instructions and traffic management rules.
• Contribute to a people-first culture and uphold Winning Values.

Role Details

• Location: Snowy River Gold Mine Project – Reefton, New Zealand’s South Island
• Roster: 7:7 (Local) or 14:14 (FIFO)

About the Role

Macmahon Underground is returning to New Zealand and seeking experienced Bogger Operators to join the Snowy River Gold Mine Project near Reefton on New Zealand’s South Island. Macmahon will be delivering underground development, production and backfill services as part of this exciting project.

We are looking for safety-focused operators with proven underground mining experience operating Sandvik and CAT Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) equipment. Successful candidates will play a key role in supporting safe and productive underground operations while contributing to our growing underground team.

Responsibilities

• Safe, efficient operation of the Sandvik and CAT underground loaders.
• Conduct regular inspection of the loader and report any damages.
• Ensure accurate end of shift reports and other relevant documents are completed and submitted
• Provide clear and effective communication.
• Keep the trucks operating at full efficiency ensuring all ore, low grade, marginal and waste are kept separate.
• Prepared to undertake other tasks and labouring duties as required.
• Complete pre-starts and report hazards or defects immediately.
• Follow plans, instructions and traffic management rules.
• Contribute to our people-first culture and live our Winning Values.
• Help teammates, share knowledge and support a strong crew culture.

What You’ll Bring
