Job summary

Oceania Group's Heretaunga Village in Upper Hutt is seeking a full-time Diversional Therapist to join a caring, resident-focused team.\n\nYou’ll lead the activities team, develop and deliver varied programmes with residents and families, and work closely with care staff to create engaging, safe experiences.\n\nThe role requires a relevant certificate, great people skills, computer literacy, weekend availability, and a current NZ driver's license.

Qualifications

  • National Certificate in Diversional Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Good people skills with ability to motivate others.
  • Good computer and system management skills.
  • Willingness to work weekend hours and follow policies for audits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the activities team.
  • Collaborate with care teams, residents and families to design activities.
  • Encourage resident participation while maintaining safety.
  • Build rapport with residents, staff and visitors.

Our Heretaunga Village in Upper Hutt are looking for a full-timeDiversional Therapist to join their dedicated team.

What you’ll be doing:

Leading our passionate activities team

Working closely withthe care team, residents and their families to create fun and varied activities programmes

Motivating our residents to take part in our activities programmes while maintaininga safe environment

Building rapport with residents, staff and visitors.

What you’ll bring:

Previous experience in a similar position

National Certificate in Diversional Therapyor equivalenthealth ofeldersqualification

Great people skills with an ability to motivate others to get involved in activities

Good computer and system management skills

Ability to follow policies and procedures to meet audit requirements

Flexibility to work weekend hours

Full NZ Driverslicence

Flexible multitasking and time management skills.
