Job summary

GIB® (Winstone Wallboards Ltd) in Tauranga seeks a strategic supply chain leader to head the Tauranga Distribution operation. You will lead a large team across inventory, despatch and warehousing, delivering high-performance outcomes and strong customer service.

You’ll drive continuous improvement, manage budgets and KPIs, and partner with Manufacturing, Planning, Customer Service, Sales and Supply Chain to elevate performance.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in supply chain, distribution, warehousing or logistics.
• Expertise in warehouse operations and inventory management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead leaders, develop capability and build high-performing teams.
• A data-driven approach using systems, reporting and analytics to identify opportunities, solve problems and drive business performance.
• Experience improving operational processes, implementing change and delivering measurable results.
• The ability to influence stakeholders and foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety and customer excellence.

About The Role

Reporting to the National Supply Chain Manager, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for Winstone Wallboards' largest distribution operation and the overall leadership of our Tauriko distribution site. You'll lead a team of leaders and specialists across inventory, despatch and warehouse operations, with responsibility for more than 40 team members across the site. As Tauranga Distribution Manager, you'll drive a high-performance culture, build leadership capability, and deliver continuous improvement across safety, service, inventory and operational performance, ensuring exceptional outcomes for both customers and the business.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Leading and developing a high-performing distribution team through strong leadership, coaching and succession planning.
• Ensuring inventory accuracy, stock integrity, exceptional customer service and operational excellence.
• Working closely with your leaders to identify and resolve issues affecting customer service or inventory.
• Driving a culture where safety, quality and continuous improvement are embedded in everything we do.
• Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve productivity, service and cost performance.

We're looking for a strategic supply chain professional who can bring strong operational and people leadership, embed a high-performance culture and elevate capability across our Tauranga Distribution operation. You'll be equally comfortable leading teams on the warehouse floor as you are analysing performance data, challenging processes and influencing stakeholders. You thrive on building capability, driving accountability, and using data and systems to continuously improve operational performance.
