About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Distribution Center Supervisor to lead operations at their facility in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This role is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, managing a team of warehouse staff, and ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety in all operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, inventory control, and the ability to drive performance improvements. You will be instrumental in ensuring smooth workflow, meeting operational targets, and fostering a positive work environment. This is a leadership opportunity within a key logistics hub in Queenstown .

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily operations of the distribution center, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and dispatch.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse associates, setting clear expectations and performance goals.
• Ensure adherence to all safety, security, and operational procedures.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Manage inventory accuracy through effective cycle counting and stock management processes.
• Oversee the proper maintenance and utilization of warehouse equipment.
• Resolve operational issues and employee concerns promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement operational improvements.
• Maintain accurate records and generate reports on warehouse activities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement within the team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape .

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse or distribution center supervision.
• Proven experience in managing and leading warehouse teams.
• Solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics principles.
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and MS Office Suite.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or tertiary education in logistics/supply chain is a plus.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting is essential.
• Must be available to work shifts and potentially overtime as required in Queenstown .
