Job summary

Metalcraft Roofing in East Tamaki is seeking an experienced Dispatch 2IC / Loader on a 5.00am–1.30pm shift. The role focuses on loading, dispatch accuracy and team coordination, with scope to step up and support the Dispatch Manager during busy periods.

You will bring hands-on dispatch, loading and warehousing experience, a forklift licence, and the ability to lead others while maintaining safety and stock standards.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence is essential; overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Good with customers and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Load trucks and customer vehicles safely and efficiently.

• Step up to run the floor when the Dispatch Manager is unavailable.
• Work closely with Production, Sales and Administration.

Metalcraft Roofing is one of New Zealand’s leading manufacturers of steel roofing and cladding products, with a strong reputation built over many years.

We are looking for an experienced Dispatch 2IC / Loader to join our great East Tamaki team.

We are looking for someone who is hands on, reliable and experienced in dispatch/loading, but also has the ability to take responsibility and support the Dispatch Manager and team as the 2IC.

The role:

You will be responsible for:

• Loading trucks and customer vehicles safely and efficiently
• Making sure the right products are dispatched accurately and on time
• Helping coordinate the dispatch team and daily priorities
• Stepping up to run the floor when the Dispatch Manager is unavailable
• Working closely with Production, Sales and Administration
• Maintaining strong safety, housekeeping and stock standards

What you will bring:

You will ideally have experience in dispatch, loading, warehousing, in a manufacturing or similar environment.

• Reliable and ready to get stuck in
• Confident taking responsibility and helping lead others
• Well organised with good attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a busy, changing environment
• Good with customers, drivers and workmates
• Serious about working safely
• Forklift licence is essential and overhead crane operation would be an advantage.

The hours

The normal shift is 5.00am–1.30pm. An early start with your afternoon free.

Some flexibility is important. From time to time you will need to start earlier, stay later or work a night shift to meet operational requirements.
