Job summary

KiwiRail is seeking a creative, strategic Social Media & Content Specialist to lead digital storytelling and manage social channels. You will develop engaging content, run the content calendar, and partner with teams nationwide to tell KiwiRail stories through written, visual and video content.

The role requires strong writing, storytelling and brand voice, with experience across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

Qualifications

• Experience managing social media and digital channels within a large organisation.
• Strong writing, editing and storytelling with a clear brand voice.
• Experience creating or coordinating visual and video content.
• Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of SEO and website user experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Developing, creating and publishing engaging content across KiwiRail's social media channels.
• Managing day-to-day social media activity and maintaining a content calendar.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and tell compelling stories.
• Building digital campaigns aligned to priorities and strategies.
• Monitoring performance and using analytics to improve results.
• Maintaining KiwiRail's brand voice across digital platforms.
• Producing visual and video content to strengthen the digital presence.
• Assessing content with a reputational risk lens and handling sensitive communications.
