Job summary

Christchurch City Council is seeking a Change Manager in its Digital Unit to drive planning and implementation of business change, assess impacts on processes and information management, and partner with leaders to prepare for and lead change across the organisation.

We value proactive communicators who can navigate a large, diverse workplace, build relationships across generations, and embed change as business as usual while supporting staff through transitions.

About you | Ko Koe Tēnei

Role

This role works within our large and diverse Digital Unit and collaborates across the various Council business units. Ideally, our Change Leads have:

• Previous change management experience, ideally in a large or complex organisation
• Specific experience with technology change
• Proven ability to engage with stakeholders and senior leadership
• Experience in business transformation and/or leading the change management workstream within a programme of work
• A disciplined approach to the planning and implementation of change activities
• Demonstrated experience in building relationships and relating to people across a multi-generational, culturally diverse workplace.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable with change and can communicate with people at all levels of our organisation - someone who meets the challenges of Change Management with a smile, can work well in a fluid environment (with the odd bit of chaos) and likes to get on top of problems and figure out solutions.

• Hours of work - Monday to Friday
• Position - Full-time, 6-month secondment
• Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga Civic Office, 53 Hereford Street
• Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $105,450 to $117,167 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
