Job summary

Christchurch City Council is seeking a Recruitment Advisor to partner with hiring managers, guiding them through the recruitment lifecycle and attracting top talent across the organisation. This fixed-term role runs through February 2028, with ownership of a own portfolio of roles and opportunities to shape sourcing strategies.

The role emphasizes collaboration, agility, and continuous improvement of processes, with a focus on delivering quality hires and supporting immigration and interview

Qualifications

  • Proven end-to-end recruitment experience (internal ideal, but agency background acceptable).
  • Experience supporting bulk recruitment, including assessment centres.
  • Understanding the importance of a strong employer brand.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with HR/recruitment processes.
  • Strong relationship management across diverse teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills and adaptability.

About the role | Ko te mahi nei

As a Recruitment Advisor, you'll be a trusted partner to hiring managers across the organisation, guiding them through the recruitment lifecycle and supporting them attract and select top talent. You'll manage your own portfolio of roles, giving you the autonomy to shape your day and apply creative, tailored strategies to meet the needs of each team.


This is a fixed term role until approx. February 2028.


Your Responsibilities Will Include


  • Coaching hiring managerson best practice recruitment

  • End-to-end recruitment: job briefs, job adverts, advertising, shortlisting, interviews, offers, and more!

  • Facilitating bulk recruitment and assessment centres (when required)

To Be Successful, You'll Bring


  • Proven end-to-end recruitment experience (internal would be ideal, but open to someone from an agency background)

  • Experience supporting bulk recruitment, including assessment centres would be a huge advantage

  • Understanding of the importance of a strong employer brand, and experience working in this space

  • Continuous improvement mindset, with experience improving processes and systems related to HR/Recruitment

  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work across diverse teams

  • Excellent organisational skills and adaptability, attention to detail and able to self-organise to manage peaks and throughs in work

  • A creative mindset and proactive problem-solving approach

  • A strongcustomer focus and commitment to continuous improvement

  • Experience working in local/central government or large complex organisations would also be an advantage

  • Hours of work - Fixed term full timefor approx. 15 months

  • Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street

  • Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $81,227 to $90,252 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.

  • Closing Date - Sunday 4th October
