The House & Building Wash Company – Auckland, North Island is seeking a full-time qualified Diesel Mechanic/Workshop Leading Hand. The role covers our Whangaparaoa workshop and fieldwork across Auckland with a service vehicle.

You will maintain diesel trucks and pressure wash engines, ensure COF/WOF compliance, and keep a neat workshop while meeting health and safety standards. The position requires a proactive, reliable individual who can plan preventative maintenance and support stock

Qualifications

  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic/Workshop Leading Hand with proven trade experience.
  • Ability to work from workshop and in the field with a service vehicle.
  • Pass police background check and ongoing random drug/alcohol tests.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair diesel trucks and pressure wash engines.
  • Ensure vehicles have current COF/WOF and safety standards.
  • Run a tidy workshop and meet health & safety requirements under pressure.
  • Organise maintenance, order stock, and manage spare parts levels.
  • Work Saturdays and on-call rosters as required.

The House & Building Wash Company – Auckland, North Island

We are offering an opportunity for a full-time, qualified Diesel Mechanic/Workshop Leading Hand to join our team. A tradesman who can work from our workshop in Whangaparaoa and in the field throughout Auckland with a service vehicle.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair our fleet of small diesel trucks (Class 1 mostly Isuzu/Hino trucks) along with Yanmar diesel pressure wash engines & water pumps
  • Ensure all vehicles have a current C.O.F. or W.O.F.
  • Run a neat and tidy workshop and meet Health & Safety requirements even when under pressure
  • Work extra hours to get the job done when the chips are down
  • Take care of and take responsibility for keeping our rigs running
  • Organise and plan preventative maintenance
  • Source competitively, order stock & keep appropriate levels of spare parts
  • Work Saturdays and be on a call out roster
About you
  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic/Workshop Leading Hand with a track record in the trade
  • Current unrestricted full MANUAL car drivers (Class I) licence. Class II is an advantage
  • A positive "can do" attitude
  • Methodical in approach
  • Self-discipline and self-motivation
  • Efficient with the use of time and have good personal organisational ability
  • Ability to pass a police background check along with regular ongoing random drug & alcohol tests
  • Ability to weld an advantage
  • Ability to use a lathe and mill an advantage
  • Living in Whangaparaoa or surrounding suburbs an advantage
  • Trustworthy

We have been operating for 28 years & cleaned more than 80,000 homes & buildings to date with 15 busy cleaning rigs. 84% of our work is either repeat or referral. We are the largest specialist House & Building Wash business in Auckland and are experiencing ongoing growth. We own our own engineering workshop where we service our own vehicles & build/service our own pressure wash equipment.
