Qualifications

Position Summary:

Title: Diagnostic / Repair Mechanic

Wage: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Employment Type: Permanent – Full-time

Hours of Work: 45 hours per week (30 hours guaranteed), from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm. An employee may be required to work on weekends and up to 50.5 hours per week.

Tasks include:

• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately;
• Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and update;
• Perform hybrid battery diagnostics, servicing, and replacement;
• Repair mechanical and electrical faults in motor vehicles and replace parts when required;
• Utilise diagnostic tools and scanning equipment to identify faults and performance issues;
• Conduct routine maintenance and general mechanical work as needed to ensure roadworthiness and longevity;
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards at the workshop;
• Provide high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service;
• Contribute to weekly "toolbox meetings" and company policies and procedures.

To be successful in this position, our ideal candidate will have:

• Relevant qualification (Level 3 qualification or above); or at least three years of relevant experience as an automotive technician/mechanic.
• Must have a full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence
• Experience with hybrid vehicle and battery diagnostics
• Flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends and public holidays (as may be required)
