Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora's LabPlus in Auckland seeks two Medical Laboratory Scientists with experience in germline genomic testing, including NGS, to support our Diagnostic Genetics service. You will analyse, interpret, and report genomic tests, ensuring precision and quality, with opportunities to work across related areas and contribute to innovation in genomic diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist with NZ MCNZ and APC.
• Experience with NGS and germline variant curation is essential.
• Experience in molecular diagnostic techniques is essential.
• Methodical and organised with focus on accuracy and data quality.
• Knowledge of ISO15189 standards.
• Flexible to service demands and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, interpret, and clinically report genomic tests.
• Perform germline genomic testing using Next Generation Sequencing.
• Collaborate with molecular genetics and clinical teams to ensure quality.
• Maintain accuracy, traceability and documentation per ISO15189.
