Job summary

Fashion Quarterly is seeking a hands-on Designer / Production Assistant to support the Creative Director and commercial team across magazine production, campaign design, and on-site shoots. You’ll move between design programs and logistics, coordinating schedules, talent, venues, and assets to bring shoots and events to life.

Responsibilities

  • Magazine pages and general production/amends
  • Pre-press coordination, liaising through to final artwork and sign-off
  • On-sale assets and collateral
  • Commercial proposal and post-campaign analysis design
  • Commercial campaign assets and rollovers
  • Resizing/adapting assets across formats
  • Scheduling shoots, call sheets, and shoot-day logistics
  • Liaising with talent for shoots
  • Guest list management and RSVPs for events
  • Event management and client/vendor coordination
  • Liaising/outreach with venues (hotels/restaurants)
  • Coordination of menus and tablescapes with venue and creative teams
  • Media confirmations
  • Support quotes and budgeting for shoots and events
  • Picking up/dropping off items (ad hoc, as needed)

Job description

The Designer / Production Assistant is a hands-on, versatile role spanning design, fashion shoot and event logistics. You'll support the Creative Director and commercial team across magazine production and campaign design, while also managing the practical, on-the-ground logistics behind FQ's shoots and events. This role suits someone who's equally comfortable behind a design program and coordinating a shoot day or event - genuinely varied, fast-paced, and hands-on across both the creative and production sides of how FQ comes together.

Key responsibilities
  • Magazine pages and general production/amends
  • Pre-press coordination, liaising through to final artwork and sign-off
  • On-sale assets and collateral
  • Commercial proposal and post-campaign analysis design
  • Commercial campaign assets and rollovers
  • Resizing/adapting assets across formats
  • Scheduling shoots, call sheets, and shoot-day logistics
  • Liaising with talent for shoots

About you
  • Experience in publishing, media, or events highly regarded
  • Proficient in design software (InDesign, Photoshop, XD or similar)
  • Confident managing multiple projects and deadlines at once
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable liaising directly with talent, vendors, and venues
  • Adaptable, calm under pressure, and genuinely happy moving between creative and logistical tasks in the same day
