Job summary

The Creative Store - New Zealand is seeking a senior designer to shape the visual identity of an extensive stable of brands across digital, print, motion, activations and in-store touchpoints.

You will own design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring outputs are high-quality, on-brand, and delivered on time—while mentoring junior designers and contributing fresh creative thinking to the wider team.

Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of industry experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant qualification in Graphic Design from a tertiary-level institute or similar.
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC, including After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Figma.
  • Illustration skills are an added advantage.
  • Experience in Adobe Premiere Pro and 3D design such as Cinema 4D is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Design Development: Create and develop innovative design solutions that align with brand guidelines across digital assets, print collateral and campaigns.
  • Briefs: Craft comprehensive creative briefs for in-house and external teams
  • Prototypes and Mock-Ups: Produce prototypes, mock-ups, and wireframes for stakeholder feedback
  • Project Management: Manage design projects from concept to completion
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure designs meet technical specs and brand guidelines
  • Handle colour correction, grading, retouching for images and videos
  • Packaging: Minor updates to existing packaging artwork
  • Team Coordination: Work with Design Director and project manager to ensure smooth workflows
  • Leadership Development: Mentor intermediate and junior designers
  • Project Leadership: Lead design projects when needed
  • Conceptualisation and Innovation: Bring fresh ideas and lead brainstorming

Are you a highly creative and experienced senior-level designer looking for a role that allows you to shape the visual identity of an extensive stable of brands?

As a highly talented senior designer, you will play a key role in bringing these brands to life across digital, print, motion, activations and in-store touchpoints. You will take ownership of design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring every output is high-quality, on-brand, and delivered on time — while mentoring junior designers and contributing fresh creative thinking to the wider team.

What you will bring
  • 5-8+ years of industry experience in a similar role
  • A relevant qualification in Graphic Design from a tertiary-level institute or similar

  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Roles and responsibilities
Design & Content Creation:
  • Design Development: Create and develop innovative design solutions that align with project goals and brand guidelines across digital assets, print collateral and brand campaigns
  • Briefs: Craft comprehensive creative briefs for both in-house and external creative teams
  • Prototypes and Mock-Ups: Produce prototypes, mock-ups, and wireframes to visualise design concepts and facilitate stakeholder feedback
  • Project Management: Manage design projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs meet technical specifications and are consistent with brand guidelines
  • Handle colour correction, grading, retouching for images and videos and audio with videos where required
  • Packaging: Minor updates to existing packaging artwork
Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Team Coordination: Work closely with the Design Director and Design Project Manager to ensure smooth workflows and high-quality output. You will work Cross-Functionally with other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver effective design solutions
  • Leadership Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to intermediate and junior designers, helping them grow and improve their skills
  • Project Leadership: Take the lead on design projects when needed, ensuring successful execution from concept to completion
  • Conceptualisation and Innovation: Bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table. Lead and actively participate in creative brainstorming sessions, proposing creative solutions that align with project goals and market trends
Skill Development and Innovation:
  • Creative Opportunities: Identify and suggest creative opportunities within the Vertical
  • Stay Updated: Keep up to date with innovative design trends and techniques
  • Industry Trends: Monitor key competitor trends and industry standards
  • Pursue learning opportunities to improve technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite (or areas identified by you and/or your manager)

You will have a discerning design eye and be an expert in using Adobe Creative Cloud. You will be adept at driving content campaigns that align and resonate with the distinct values of their diverse brand portfolios.
