Job summary

Goodman Fielder is seeking a fixed-term Design & Commissioning Manager for the Meadow Fresh dairy site in Longburn, Palmerston North. You will lead multidisciplinary design across expansions and ensure hygienic design, safety in design, and regulatory compliance, delivering fit-for-purpose outcomes.

You will coordinate commissioning strategies, FAT/SAT activities and act as the main technical interface between project delivery, operations, quality, HS&E, automation and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation.
• Proven leadership across design, commissioning, and start-up in manufacturing.
• Experience with hygienic design and Safety in Design; risk management expertise.
• Fixed-term role for 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design across expansions to processing, packaging, automation, utilities and buildings.
• Review and endorse layouts, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation prior to Issue for Construction (IFC).
• Act as the primary technical interface between project delivery, operations, quality, HS&E, automation, and external vendors.
• Define and lead the commissioning strategy, philosophy, and readiness criteria including coordinating and participating in FAT and SAT.
