Job summary

Goodman Fielder is seeking a fixed-term Design & Commissioning Manager for Meadow Fresh at the Longburn, Palmerston North site to ensure design and commissioning deliver fit-for-purpose, safe, and operable outcomes for an expansion project.

You will lead design across processing, packaging, automation, utilities and buildings; endorse IFC-ready documentation; act as the technical interface across project delivery, operations, quality, HS&E and vendors; and define the commissioning strategy

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical or Automation is beneficial.
• Project management qualification would be advantageous.
• Proven leadership across design, commissioning and start-up in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of hygienic design and Safety in design with risk management expertise.

Responsibilities

• Review layouts, specifications, drawings and technical docs prior to IFC, ensuring hygienic design and safety compliance.

About the Role

We are looking for a fixed-term Design & Commissioning Manager to join our team at our Meadow Fresh dairy manufacturing site in Longburn, Palmerston North in ensuring all design and commissioning activities deliver fit-for-purpose, safe, and operable outcomes for our expansion project.

In order to achieve this, your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design across expansions to processing, packaging, automation, utilities and buidlings
• Review and endorse layouts, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation prior to Issue for Construction (IFC) whilst ensuring compliance with hygienic design, Safety in Design, regulatory & site engineering standards
• Act as the primary technical interface between project delivery, operations, quality, HS&E, automation, and external vendors
• Define and lead the commissioning strategy, philosophy, and readiness criteria including coordinating and participating in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)

Note: Role is a 18-month fixed-term contract.

About You

In order to make this role a success, we are looking for a Project leader with extensive capital project delivery experience.

Specifically, some of the experiences and skillsets we are looking for include:

• An Engineering qualification (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation) is beneficial; a qualification in Project Management would be advantageous
• Proven leadership across design, commissioning, and start-up in a manufacturing environment
• Full understanding of hygienic design and Safety in design with expertise in risk management
• Safety and Quality first approach to champion safe practices across all phases of delivery
