Job summary

Goodman Fielder is seeking a Production Team Leader for our Quality Bakers site in East Tamaki, Auckland. You will support the Production Manager to ensure shifts are correctly allocated to deliver on KPIs, DIFOT, and productivity.

Responsibilities include mentoring direct reports, ensuring food safety compliance, maintaining hygiene, and leading toolbox meetings while escalating SHE and quality issues as needed. Night shift Tue–Fri, finishing Sat morning.

Qualifications

• Experience in the food manufacturing at a Team Lead or Supervisory level.
• Machine operation and/or engineering management practice.
• Exposure to Quality Assurance and Food Safety Systems.
• A great attitude towards health and safety.
• Ability to drive performance.
• Effective communication skills.
• SAP and SHE systems experience (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop direct reports so that they are able to make decisions in a timely manner as they relate to production.
• Deliver high quality finished product by ensuring compliance to all Food Safety Systems and ensure that action is taken to elevate and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Oversee the hygiene of the plant by ensuring cleaning occurs at correct times and to the correct standard.
• Manage the shift production team via tool box meetings (shift Handover, Daily Direction Setting, TALK meetings) & escalate issues relating to SHE and Quality.
• Support Production Manager to allocate shifts and deliver on KPIs, DIFOT, Waste %, line utilization, and productivity.

Role

We are currently looking for a Production Team Leader to lead a dedicated team of Baking production staff at our Quality Bakers site in East Tamaki, Auckland. As Team Leader you will provide support to the Production Manager in ensuring the shift team are correctly allocated to deliver on performance in KPIs, DIFOT, Waste %, line utilization, and productivity.

Other responsibilities include:

• Mentor and develop direct reports so that they are able to make decisions in a timely manner as they relate to production.

Note: This role is Night Shift, Tuesday to Friday (finishing Saturday morning).
