Job summary

Elgas is seeking a delivery driver to service the Whangamatā region in New Zealand. You will deliver LPG cylinders to homes and businesses, interact with customers on-site, and uphold strict health and safety standards during each step of the process.

Applicants should have a clean NZ driving licence with two years of driving experience, be able to drive manual transmission vehicles, and be willing to obtain a Dangerous Goods licence if not already held.

Qualifications

  • Clean driving licence with at least two years of driving experience.
  • Able to drive manual transmission vehicles.
  • Experience delivering goods to homes/businesses is preferred.
  • Dangerous Goods licence or willingness to undergo training.
  • Strong customer service mindset and regional knowledge.
  • Able to use handheld delivery devices and map tools.
  • Proactive about health and safety and able to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver LPG gas cylinders to homes and businesses across the region.
  • Interact with customers face-to-face and assist with inquiries.
  • Maintain health and safety standards during every delivery.
  • Use handheld delivery devices to record and track dispatches.
  • Work Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday shifts.

  • Your working time will be Monday to Friday starting around 06:30am, finishing no later than 05:00pm
  • Occasional Saturdays are required
  • Role involves delivering LPG gas cylinders to homes and businesses across the region
  • You'll be interacting with customers face-to-face, so you might need to answer questions or help them out
  • As you'll be handling dangerous goods, attention to detail with a strong commitment to health and safety is super important
What makes you great
  • You have a clean licence with at least two years drivingexperience
  • Can drivemanual transmission and you have previous experience delivering goods
  • Be physically fit, and able to lift heavy items when doing deliveries
  • Dangerous Goods licence and LPG filling experience (or be willing to undergo training)
  • Flexible and adaptable with a strong focus on customer service
  • Have good knowledge of the region
  • You are able to use handheld computer delivery equipment
  • A proactive approach and responsibility towards Health and Safety
  • Satisfactorily pass background checks such as: Criminal & ACC history, medical and Drug & Alcohol screening
  • Be a team player with a can-do attitude and the flexibility to meet the demands of the operations
