Job summary

Elgas Limited in Whangamata, New Zealand, is seeking a Delivery Driver to join a busy team. You will deliver LPG gas cylinders to homes and businesses, interact with customers, and uphold strict health and safety standards.

The role requires a clean Class 2 licence, manual transmission capability, and the stamina to lift heavy items. Typical hours are Monday to Friday starting early, with occasional Saturday shifts.

Qualifications

• Clean licence with at least two years driving experience.
• Experience driving manual transmission.
• Ability to lift heavy items during deliveries.
• Dangerous Goods licence or willingness to undergo training.
• Pass background checks (criminal & ACC history, medical and Drug & Alcohol screening).

Responsibilities

• Deliver LPG gas cylinders to homes and businesses across the region.
• Interact with customers face-to-face and assist as needed.
• Maintain health and safety standards during all deliveries.
• Work Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays and early start times.

We’re looking for a hardworking, dependable driver to join our busy team. You'll need 2 years Class 2 driving experience and can drive a manual transmission.

What You Will Enjoy Doing

• Your working time will be Monday to Friday starting around 06:30am, finishing no later than 05:00pm
• Occasional Saturdays are required
• Role involves delivering LPG gas cylinders to homes and businesses across the region
• You’ll be interacting with customers face-to-face, so you might need to answer questions or help them out
• As you'll be handling dangerous goods, attention to detail with a strong commitment to health and safety is super important

What Makes You Great

• You have a clean licence with at least two years driving experience
• Can drive manual transmission and you have previous experience delivering goods
• Be physically fit, and able to lift heavy items when doing deliveries
• Dangerous Goods licence and LPG filling experience (or be willing to undergo training)
• Flexible and adaptable with a strong focus on customer service
• Have good knowledge of the region
• You are able to use handheld computer delivery equipment
• A proactive approach and responsibility towards Health and Safety
• Satisfactorily pass background checks such as: Criminal & ACC history, medical and Drug & Alcohol screening
• Be a team player with a can-do attitude and the flexibility to meet the demands of the operations
