Job summary

Sigma Healthcare NZ is seeking an DC Operations Manager to lead a state-of-the-art, highly automated distribution centre serving a growing healthcare network across New Zealand.

You will drive daily operations, optimise automation and labour, uphold safety, manage inventory integrity and contribute to budgeting while mentoring teams to deliver exceptional service and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics
• Proven success leading teams within a high-volume distribution or warehousing environment
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse operations and stock accuracy disciplines
• Demonstrated experience driving Health & Safety performance and culture
• Exposure to automated warehousing systems
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to make data-driven decisions

As DC Operations Manager, you'll play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring our Distribution Centre operates at its best every day. Leading high-performing teams and leveraging cutting-edge automation, you'll drive operational excellence across inbound, outbound, replenishment and picking functions while championing safety, service, productivity and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Operational Excellence
Lead day-to-day Distribution Centre operations, ensuring smooth, safe and efficient execution across all warehouse activities.

Automation & Workforce Optimisation
Maximise the performance of automated systems and labour resources to deliver exceptional productivity and service outcomes.

Safety First
Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements, SOPs and Sigma's Supplier Compliance Standards.

Inventory Integrity
Drive disciplined stock management practices, maintain inventory accuracy and support cycle count programmes.

Financial & KPI Performance
Monitor operational performance, manage cost centres and contribute to budgeting and business planning activities.

Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve processes and unlock efficiencies through automation and innovation.

People Leadership
Inspire, coach and develop Team Leaders and operational teams, fostering engagement, capability and accountability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Supply Chain, Transport, Inventory and Retail stakeholders to ensure outstanding customer outcomes.

You're an experienced operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and leads from the front. You combine strong commercial and operational acumen with a passion for developing people and delivering results.

You'll bring:

Tertiary qualifications in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field.

Proven success leading teams within a high-volume distribution or warehousing environment.

Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse operations and stock accuracy disciplines.

Demonstrated experience driving Health & Safety performance and culture.

Exposure to automated warehousing systems (highly regarded).

Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Strong financial acumen with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Travel: Occasional travel between sites may be required
