Job summary

Red Stag Timber in Rotorua is seeking a Customer Services specialist to join our Sales Team. This permanent full-time role focuses on sales administration, data input, and managing orders for Australia, domestic, and export markets.

You will collaborate with the Despatch Team and external service providers, coordinate shipping, and ensure accurate documentation. The ideal candidate has customer services experience in timber or logistics and strong MS Office skills.

Located 10 minutes' drive south of Rotorua CBD, Red Stag Timber is an industry leader when it comes to producing quality structural timber products. The Company operates New Zealand's largest sawmill and is a well-established and successful business, employing over 450 staff & contractors.

A permanent fulltime opportunity has arisen for a Customer Services person to join our Sales Team, reporting to the Industrial & Export Sales Manager.

Duties include providing efficient sales administration, accurate product information data input and managing customer orders for the Australia, domestic and other export markets. The role will include shipping and bookings, export documentation and optimisation of delivery cost and service to our customers.

Primarily focussed on the Australian market however this role will also provide support & cover for other team members, working across both New Zealand and other export markets. There will also be significant interaction with our timber Despatch Team and external service providers.

The Red Stag Timber Sales team is built on strong, trusted relationships with our customers and stakeholders. We are looking for someone who values these relationships as much as we do, and who will take pride in delivering responsive, reliable and professional service every day.

Hours of work are generally Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 5.00pm, however occasionally promotional activities may require additional hours.

Previous customer services experience in a timber sales environment and / or shipping and logistics is desirable, with ability to confidently field telephone queries, accurately input data and complete export & sales documentation. Full training will be provided, with the role best suited to someone who enjoys building relationships and takes pride in accurate, detailed work.

The ability to communicate effectively via phone and email is a requirement, along with confident MS Office computer skills. Most importantly, we need a reliable and organised team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and a 'can-do' attitude.
