Job summary

Snap Rentals in Nelson is looking for a Customer Service Representative & Groomer to welcome customers, manage rentals, and ensure vehicles are clean and safe for every journey. You will handle end-to-end rental processes, vehicle grooming, and day-to-day branch operations as part of a small team.

The role offers 3 or 5 days per week, for part‑time or full‑time commitments depending on your needs. Experience with Rental Car Manager is advantageous, but attitude, reliability and a proactive

Qualifications

• Full, clean driver’s licence and comfortable driving a range of vehicles.
• Experience in car rental, vehicle grooming or customer service is preferred.
• Familiarity with Rental Car Manager (RCM) is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible and adaptable, willing to take on varied tasks.
• Physically fit for active grooming and depot work.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, manage pick-ups and returns, ensuring a positive experience.
• Oversee end-to-end rental process: bookings, vehicle checks, rental agreements, extensions and returns.
• Clean, groom and prepare vehicles to high standards.
• Manage tasks efficiently; ensure vehicles are ready within required timeframes.
• Listen to customers, find solutions and escalate issues when needed.
• Drive courtesy shuttles, move vehicles between locations and maintain depot tidiness.

About the role
We’re looking for a Customer Service Representative & Groomer to join our Nelson team. This is a varied, hands‑on role where you’ll be the friendly face of SNAP Rentals while also making sure our vehicles are clean, safe and ready for our customers.

You’ll help customers throughout their rental journey, from pick‑up to drop‑off, while also grooming vehicles, completing vehicle checks and helping with day‑to‑day branch operations. As part of a small team, you’ll need to be someone who is happy to get stuck in and help wherever needed.

We can offer 3 or 5 days per week, making this a great opportunity for someone looking for either a part‑time or full‑time commitment.

What you will be doing

• Welcome customers, manage pick‑ups and returns, and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Manage the end‑to‑end rental process, including bookings, vehicle checks, rental agreements, extensions and returns.
• Clean, groom and prepare vehicles to our high standards.
• Manage tasks efficiently and ensure vehicles are ready and available within required timeframes.
• Listen to customers, find solutions and **escalate** issues when needed.
• Pitch in where needed – drive courtesy shuttles, move vehicles between locations and keep the branch, grooming bay and depot tidy.

Experience required We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a full, clean driver's licence and is confident driving a range of vehicles.
• Previous car rental, vehicle grooming or customer service experience would be an advantage, but attitude and reliability are just as important.
• We use Rental Car Manager (RCM) in day‑to‑day operations. Knowledge of this system is very advantageous but not essential.
• Has strong communication and customer service skills and enjoys interacting with people.
• Is flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to take on different tasks throughout the day.
• Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic and is happy to be part of a small, hands‑on team.
• Is physically fit and comfortable being on their feet for most of the day. This is an active role involving vehicle grooming, moving around the depot and getting stuck in.
• Can work efficiently and take pride in getting the details right.
• Has good initiative and is comfortable solving problems and asking for help when needed.
