Marlborough District Council – Blenheim, South Island
We're looking for a confident, resilient and people-focused Customer Service Officer to join our frontline team.
This isn't your typical reception role. Customer Services is at the heart of Council, helping thousands of people each year. One moment you'll be helping a customer at the counter, the next you'll be fielding calls in our busy open plan call centre, processing applications, navigating multiple systems, or tracking down answers to complex enquiries.
As one of the first faces and voices of Council, you'll create positive experiences for our customers by providing information and connecting people with our services, processing payments, and solving problems while supporting and guiding customers though challenging situations.
Our environment is fast-moving, involving a wide range of individuals, energetic and 100% people focused. Phones ring, customers arrive and priorities shift. You'll need to be comfortable thinking on your feet, juggling competing demands, and maintaining a calm, professional and welcoming approach, even when things get busy.
If you enjoy variety, love helping people, and get a sense of satisfaction from turning a customer's question into a solution, you'll fit right in.
We’re committed to building an inclusive, respectful workplace where diversity is celebrated and everyone has the opportunity to thrive. We welcome people from all backgrounds and support equitable opportunities, open-minded collaboration, and the growth of cultural understanding.
To enable our people to succeed and make an impact, we offer:
You enjoy being around people, can switch easily between tasks, and don't need a quiet office or a perfectly planned day to do your best work. In fact, you excel when there's plenty happening around you.
You'll bring:
