Job summary

NZTA | Waka Kotahi is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect, Customer and Digital to lead architecture across the Customer and Digital technology domains. You will develop target states, roadmaps and guidance to shape platforms and capabilities that power nationwide digital services.

The role requires balancing innovation with practical delivery, aligning short-term decisions with long-term outcomes, and collaborating across product, delivery and technology teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in enterprise, solution or technology architecture.
• Experience developing technology strategies, target states and roadmaps.
• Knowledge of customer engagement platforms, digital services, web and mobile ecosystems.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Ability to translate complex technology concepts into clear guidance.
• Knowledge of Te Ao Maori and tikanga is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture direction for the Customer and Digital domains.
• Develop target states, domain roadmaps and strategic technology guidance.
• Shape the evolution of customer experience platforms, digital channels and enabling capabilities.
• Influence technology investment, platform decisions and strategic priorities.
• Provide clear architectural direction to support digital product and service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for simplification, consistency, standardisation and reuse.
• Guide architecture practices across the domains and align cross-domain delivery.
