Job summary

GES (General Engineering & Safety Supplies) Cromwell is seeking a Branch Manager to lead the Cromwell operation, report to owners, and work with Alexandra and admin teams.

You will manage day-to-day branch, nurture relationships with key customers visiting Queenstown and Wanaka, drive sales and new business, and mentor the local team.

Knowledge of engineering, tools, automotive or trade products is helpful; eagerness to learn products and systems and respond to customer needs is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a branch or team in a trade/engineering retail environment.
• Proven ability to drive sales and manage key customer relationships.
• Capable of coordinating stock, inventory, and store presentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of the Cromwell branch.
• Grow relationships with key customers including visits to Queenstown & Wanaka.
• Drive sales, quotes and new business opportunities.

General Engineering & Safety Supplies (GES) is a locally owned business supplying engineering, trade & retail customers throughout Central Otago, with branches in Alexandra and Cromwell.

We’re looking for someone to lead our Cromwell Branch.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys sales, customers and taking responsibility for the performance of a branch. You’ll work closely with the owners and alongside our Alexandra and admin teams, with inventory support behind you.

What the role involves:

• Managing the day-to-day running of the Cromwell branch
• Looking after and growing relationships with key customers including regular visits to Queenstown & Wanaka
• Driving sales, quotes and new business opportunities
• Leading and supporting the branch team
• Working with our inventory team to keep stock levels right and the store fresh and relevant
• Maintaining strong customer and supplier relationships
• Keeping the branch organised, well presented and running efficiently

We’re looking for someone who looks beyond the day-to-day, understands what’s happening around the branch and takes action when something needs attention.

Some knowledge of engineering, tools, automotive or trade products is important. You don’t need to know it all, but you should be confident learning products, internal systems and understanding customer needs.
