Job summary

Kotahi is seeking a Credit Controller to join their high-performing Finance team in New Zealand. You will manage the end-to-end credit control process for all customers, ensuring timely collections and accurate debtor management while building strong internal and external relationships.

You will handle invoicing, dispute resolution, customer queries, reconciliations, and risk monitoring, with a focus on continuous improvement and process consistency.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in end-to-end credit control and accounts receivable.
  • Strong understanding of AR systems, processes and reporting.
  • Ability to manage high-volume debtor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Invoicing & Collections: manage outstanding debts, resolve billing disputes, and process receipts.
  • Customer Relationship Management: act as first point of contact for payment and account queries.
  • Reconciliation & Reporting: perform regular debtor reconciliations and report on aged receivables.
  • Managing Credit Risk: assess creditworthiness, set limits, and monitor payment behaviour.
  • Customer Onboarding: support documentation and credit checks during onboarding.
  • Continuous Improvement: drive process improvements and ensure consistency in credit control practices.

About You

You’re not just great with numbers, you’re a proactive problem solver who builds strong relationships and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You bring:

  • 4+ years’ experience in end-to-end credit control and accounts receivable
  • Strong understanding of AR systems, processes, and reporting
  • Ability to manage high-volume debtor accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • A detail-oriented mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable cycles (Diploma in Accounting or business studies preferred)
  • Experience in supply chain, shipping, or logistics is a bonus but not essential
