Job summary

Kāinga Ora is seeking a proactive Coordinator - Placement and Rehousing to join our Regional Placement team in Dunedin. The role supports placement and rehousing delivery, coordinating processes that help customers transition into suitable homes.

The role combines administration, coordination, stakeholder engagement, and customer support. You will work across multiple workstreams and travel within the region as needed, with a 6-month fixed term/secondment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate placement and rehousing activities to support positive customer outcomes.
  • Identify suitable customer matches for available homes and support placement processes.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and ensure information is captured in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Manage rehousing logistics, including arranging movers, obtaining quotes, processing invoices, issuing correspondence, and coordinating key activities.
  • Prepare documentation, update customer and property information, and complete system-related tasks.
  • Provide accurate reporting and data management to support regional placement activity.
  • Collaborate with Housing and Wellbeing teams, Property teams, Awhi Rito Hub, and external agencies.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and customer experiences.
  • Travel within the region as required.

We're looking for an organised and customer-focused Coordinator - Placement and Rehousing to join our Regional Placement team.

In this role, you'll support the delivery of placement and rehousing services by coordinating the processes that help customers and whānau transition into suitable homes. Working closely with Advisors Placement and Rehousing, you'll play a critical role in matching customers to properties, maintaining accurate records, coordinating rehousing logistics, and ensuring placement activities are delivered efficiently and professionally.

This is a varied role that combines administration, coordination, stakeholder engagement, and customer support. You'll work across multiple workstreams, liaise with internal teams and external providers, and help ensure customers receive a seamless experience throughout the placement and rehousing journey.

This role will be based in Dunedin, with occasional travel required across the region to support placement and rehousing activities, attend stakeholder meetings, and provide on-the-ground support to customers and whānau as needed.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately.

  • A customer-focused approach and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for whānau.
  • Cultural awareness and an inclusive approach, particularly when working with Māori, Pasifika, and diverse communities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office products and organisational systems.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while managing your own workload effectively.
  • A current full New Zealand driver's licence and willingness to travel within the region as required.
