Kainga Ora in Dunedin is seeking a organized, customer-focused Coordinator - Placement and Rehousing to support the Regional Placement team. The role involves coordinating placement activities, matching customers to homes, and ensuring smooth rehousing processes.

Based in Dunedin with some travel regionally, you will work across teams to maintain records, manage logistics, and deliver efficient, patient-focused service to whānau in need.

Responsibilities

  • Manage rehousing logistics, including quotes, invoices, and correspondence.
  • Prepare documentation, update customer and property information, and complete system tasks.
  • Provide reporting and data management to support regional placement activity.
  • Collaborate with Housing and Wellbeing, Property teams, Awhi Rito Hub, and external agencies.

We're looking for an organised and customer-focused Coordinator - Placement and Rehousing to join our Regional Placement team.

In this role, you'll support the delivery of placement and rehousing services by coordinating the processes that help customers and whānau transition into suitable homes. Working closely with Advisors Placement and Rehousing, you'll play a critical role in matching customers to properties, maintaining accurate records, coordinating rehousing logistics, and ensuring placement activities are delivered efficiently and professionally.

This is a varied role that combines administration, coordination, stakeholder engagement, and customer support. You'll work across multiple workstreams, liaise with internal teams and external providers, and help ensure customers receive a seamless experience throughout the placement and rehousing journey.

This role will be based in Dunedin, with occasional travel required across the region to support placement and rehousing activities, attend stakeholder meetings, and provide on-the-ground support to customers and whānau as needed.

Ngā haepapa - What you'll be responsible for
  • Coordinating placement and rehousing activities to support positive customer outcomes.
  • Identifying suitable customer matches for available homes and supporting placement processes alongside Advisors Placement and Rehousing.
  • Maintaining accurate customer records and ensuring information is captured in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Managing rehousing logistics, including arranging movers, obtaining quotes, processing invoices, issuing correspondence, and coordinating key activities.
  • Preparing documentation, updating customer and property information, and completing system-related tasks.
  • Providing accurate reporting and data management to support regional placement activity.
  • Working closely with Housing and Wellbeing teams, Property teams, Awhi Rito Hub, and external agencies to support successful placement outcomes.
  • Supporting continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and customer experiences.
  • Experience providing high-quality administrative or coordination support, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately.
  • Sound judgement, discretion, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A customer-focused approach and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for whānau.
  • Cultural awareness and an inclusive approach, particularly when working with Māori, Pasifika, and diverse communities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office products and organisational systems.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while managing your own workload effectively.
  • A current full New Zealand driver's licence and willingness to travel within the region as required.
