Job summary

Unknown Company is seeking a Finance Clerk/Bookkeeper to manage financial records for construction projects in Auckland. The role focuses on accurate recording of transactions and compliance with internal controls.

You will reconcile bank and project accounts, monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and reporting. Strong accounting software skills and NZ tax compliance knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• NZQF Level 4 bookkeeping or higher qualification.
• Minimum three years of relevant bookkeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for residential construction projects and related transactions.
• Reconcile company bank accounts, project accounts and general ledger balances.
• Monitor project cash flow and expenditures, assisting with financial planning.
• Prepare and reconcile invoices and PAYE obligations, ensuring timely payments.
• Investigate discrepancies and report irregularities to management.
• Assist in monthly management accounts, cost reports and budgets.
• Maintain documentation for contracts, supplier agreements and project expenses.
• Support Inland Revenue requirements and GST/PAYE reporting.
