Job summary

New Zealand Couriers in Timaru is seeking a positive, service-minded Company Driver to join our South Canterbury delivery team on a fixed-term basis. You’ll drive a company van, deliver freight, and provide excellent customer service with full training provided.

Immediate start is available for the right candidate; you’ll work under supervision during recruitment, following safety policies and procedures while staying adaptable to fast-paced delivery runs.

Qualifications

• Hold a clean, full driver’s licence suitable for van driving.
• Demonstrate confident, clear communication with customers.
• Show good geographic knowledge of South Canterbury.
• Freight handling experience is advantageous.
• Maintain a customer-centric approach in all interactions.
• Be a quick learner and adaptable to fast-paced routes.
• Be physically fit; capable of some heavy lifting.

About the Role

We are looking for a positive, service-minded person to join our courier delivery team for the South Canterbury area. As a Company Driver, you’ll be out on the road and delivering outstanding customer service each day. An immediate start is available to the right candidate, with full training provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving a company van safely to ensure efficient collection and delivery of freight
• Provide operational support, including sorting and processing freight at our depot
• Adherence to company health and safety policies and procedures
• Delivering outstanding service to our customers and clients

The ideal applicant will:

• Have a clean, full driver’s license with the ability to drive any type of van – automatic and manual
• Have confident communication skills
• Demonstrate sound geographic knowledge of South Canterbury area
• Previous freight experience is advantageous
• Customer centric approach
• Be a quick learner, with the ability to adapt to fast-paced delivery runs
• Be physically fit – some heavy & repetitive lifting required (up to 25kg)
• Have a can-do attitude – ready to help out wherever needed
